January 28th

The roof tops look like mini mountains on the houses this morning. It's another cold day here, another below zero day. As you can tell from the chimney we have a little bit of wind so the windchill up again.

January 26th

I know, I know, I've got a messy desk, but my sewing desk is clean!! That isn't what the pictures is about. I got a new monitor for my Birthday a couple of days ago and the old speakers do not work with the new monitor. So DH brought home new speakers last night. You can tell I definitely married a geek. He got me Bose speakers for my monitor! The box for the speakers is almost as big as the box for the monitor. In this picture he is putting everything together.

I had to take and post two pictures as Izzy looks like she is rocking out in this one. She's just too cute!!! My youngest DS is receiving my old monitor and speakers. He probably won't use the speakers, but if you take one part you get the whole bucket.

There is one bloom left, but a new start is on its way. Right now it's looking kind of pathetic.

January 24th

Snowapple has three blooms and more on the way. There are two new shoots starting so hopefully more are on the way. It is so nice to see these on the cold and frigid mornings we have been having. This morning it was -15 F without windchill.

January 23rd

As I was driving Home I saw the sunset behind me. And this is what it looked like facing west on our deck. We have been having very cold weather again and I was actually hoping for some clouds to warm it up.

We have fog this morning which is making ice crystals from on the trees. I snapped this photo this morning so I could use it for a tutorial I was posting on my other blog.

January 20th

I have been going from office to office for the past two weeks teaching. There is an office in Highland Park and around the corner is a couple of horse head hitching posts in the shrubs. I see this every time I have to go to this office. I made a point today to take my camera so I could get this photo.

January 19th

Pretty soon I will be having paperwhites blooming in the house. These guys really sprouted up in no time.

January 18th

Progress on the Amaryllis. It's not very tall but it is nice to have a flower blooming in the house.

January 17th

I took this one with my cell phone. I need to remember to throw in my camera bag when I teach. I just love this. Since we woke to another coldest day of the year it really made me think of summer.

January 16th

I actually posted two pictures today. No I am not skipping a day. I just felt that one did not do this justice. I had to be at the Richfield office tonight to teach and I drove by this. They do this every year and it is just gorgeous. I had forgotten about it until I drove by this year. I took the picture with my cell phone, but will be going back to take a few pictures with my camera.

January 15th

I pass by these trees every morning on my way to work. This morning they had another layer of frost as it was once again the coldest morning of the year.

January 14th

We have been having really cold weather. The wind chill is in the -20's or lower. All of the trees look like they have glittered from the frost.

January 13th

was a cold bitter day. We has temperatures at -21 F when I took DH to the car pool in the morning. I think it finally warned up to -3 F during the day. This picture as taken when I dropped a friend off at their car late last night. It was snowing and blowing.

Here is the paperwhites I was talking about. They are just starting to get a little bit of green on top.

January 11th

This baby is getting ready to burst into bloom. I took the picture Sunday, went to download it and realized I did not have the flash drive in. I had some really cute pictures of Izzy and Sophie playing, but didn't have the flash drive in.

We are dog sitting Sophie as her parents are on vacation. They picked a good time to go - the temperatures are suppose to drop to below zero. So the two girls are getting to know each other and will definitely sleep well tonight. They each had a nice nap today!

Snowapple is the name of this beauty. I had gotten her from Home Depot on the Clearance rack for $2 and I've been able to get her to bloom three different times since then. Not bad at all! This morning I was making coffee and turned around and look what was waiting for me. Such a surprise to see on a snowy cold morning with a long day ahead of you. I have this one on the island in my kitchen but I moved it to the front room to take the picture. Yes that is the color of the walls in the front room. The kitchen is white and wood from the cabinets and I wanted the flower pop out.

This is such an unusual sight to see in my vehicle. I always fill up when I get to half a tank. I've just been swamped this last week and kept telling myself that I need to stop on my way home or on the way to work and it just didn't happen. Now in my DH's vehicle, he waits for the ding ding ding to remind him that he needs to fill up and then calculates that the has 20 more miles. When the guys were teenagers and asked to borrow Dad's truck the next question was "Does it have gas??"

This is what I came home to today. This photo is deceiving as she doesn't normally want to play with the remote controlled truck. She normally runs to Dale and jumps up on his lap, as if that is her safe zone from the truck.

Izzy kissing Doug on the way to her Doctor appointment today. I snapped this with the camera on the cell phone. I guess I need to add to my list that I also want to operate the camera on the cell phone better.

Home Depot had this Amaryllis on sale. I'm such a sucker for the Lonely and Left behind plants. As you can tell it has already sprouted and has two flowers starting to form. There was also a box of Paperwhites which I also rescued. I thought I could take a picture of them every Sunday.

Play Time!!! David was chasing Izzy around the house and slipped on the wood floor. She is more than happy to check on him. This photo just makes me smile.

This is an unusual sight at my home. Little girl shoes!!! Or should I say snow boots, either way it most uncommon. We had a couple of imps running around the house with his daddy and I snapped lots of pictures of the girls and this one.

I adjusted the photo is Photoshop Elements 5 with Inner Glows and the Recessed Frame.
